Review of The Devil Inside (2012) by Daniel K — 01 Sep 2012
A slow start this had mum in the huffing stages of not liking well within her normal 8 mins. (sighs, huffs or tutts in the first 8 mins is the sign of doom for any film, and we have to watch something else or hang out to then not like it and will wander throughout).
Blairwitch rumbles off the tongue watching this, its similar and unfortunately with the exception of a few neat possessed tricks with contortionism the film is just as disappointing. This is another in a line of this kind of theme that is running in the last few years where footage and evil, possession, devils and demons etc are all popular topics.
I have yet to see one of these succeed, again paranormal activity another that this reminds me of falls short of actual film worth re watching again the few set tricks to do a moving object or sfx in a scene about the only things worth mentioning.
The actors were flat and frankly the lead female and her documentary partner were the flattest of all. trailer has most of the interesting parts apart from an interesting christening and a back bend that will make even the nubile of yoga enthusiasts squirm.
skip and watch emily rose if you haven't seen it instead. (also avoid The Rite as it was pretty much the same as this).
