Review of The Devil Inside (2012) by Jarrett M — 20 Oct 2012
With the popularity of 'found-footage' films in recent years, it's only a matter of time before the market gets saturated and the quality goes down the drain. The Devil Inside signals the arrival of that time.
Movies like Cloverfield, REC and Trollhunter show how the style can be used to great effect. Here, it is wasted. It almost feels like not a single person involved with the production of the film gave a damn as to how it would turn out.
In the end, it feels like a cheaply made Discovery channel special on exorcisms. Not even slightly scary and only mildly creepy at times, avoid this one. You're not missing anything.
