Review of The Devil Inside (2012) by Stephanie R — 03 Nov 2012
This film has some moments that made me shiver and even made me turn away from the screen ,the role of Isabelle's mother was performed with real talent but unfortunately the other roles were not as successful or believable or scary .
the film had its moments like when isabelle's mother beckons for Isabelle to come closer, then gives her a creepy and insane smile then screams pure fury at her . but these moments are spoiled by poor character development and bad acting.
there is a constant lack of cinematography and there are things completely irreverent for example in one scene Isabelle and her cameraman are walking along the streets of Rome when a blind nun randomly looks at them ,if this scene had deep and unforgettable meaning then I am afraid to say it passed me by .
The has so many creepy things about it that you almost forget what a bad film it is .but like most modern day mocumentry handy cam films such as paranormal activity and Chernobyl diaries it succeeds in two ways ,making you jump and making you feel nervous .
If you like that then fine but the rest of the film is utter rubbish .
