Review of The Devil Came on Horseback (2007) by Marty G — 08 Jan 2008
Crafts a truly fascinating perspective on the conflict in Darfur. By focusing on how the conflict impacted one American aid worker, mind you not the typical idealogue aid worker but a Republican ex-marine, it creates a really compelling and effective narrative.
The use of Steidle's photography is effective, warranted and, most of all, devestating. I reallly recommend this (though it might not be of the greatest help if one doesn't already have, at least, a basic working knowledge of the conflict in Sudan).
