Review of The Devil Came on Horseback (2007) by Reshmaal C — 29 Mar 2008
A very well though and cleverly laid out documentary that hits every single key point it sets out to address. It educates you on the history of the conflict in Darfur and shows in as frank a manner as possible the atrocities occurring to which much of the world turns a blind eye to.
Also points an accusing finger at the global superpowers that claimed "never again" after Rwanda as well as to the inadequacies of the UN. The still shots woven into the movie further inflames the passions and leaves you angry, helpless and feeling responsible.
One of the few movies that I believe might actually make a difference if enough people were to watch it. As one of the banners say "Smoke the Janjaweed. Save Darfur!".
