Review of The Devil and Daniel Mouse (1978) by Senor C — 09 Oct 2010
Faust for children. Actually this is really a charming short animated feature where two folk singing mice can't make it in the day & age of rock & disco so Jan signs a contract w/ the devil where she becomes famous in return for her soul.
After her biggest concert the devil returns to collect & it's up to Daniel mouse to try to save Jan's soul. I wish he could have beat the devil on a technicality instead of a song from the heart.
Most of the song are pretty good which is surprising for most animation. This reminded me a lot of the work of Ralph Bakshi w/out the sex.
