Review of The Devil and Daniel Johnston (2006) by T M — 20 Apr 2006
The Devil and Daniel Johnston is well directed piece about the career of one of modern America's most mystifying musical figures. An unstable bi-polar man that can just as easily be torn down as praised.
Regardless of if one loves or hates Johnston , the film is a good look into the mind of Johnston, a remarkably complex and simple man. A walking contradiction. What is truly important about the film is that it should prove to be a time capsule for an artist that could have been entirely lost with time.
