Was Johnston exploited? This film is painful to watch...obviously the man is so unwell but he claimed making music was what made him happiest. I still think managers and producers completely put him in terrible situations knowing his illness put his life and the lives of others at risk just to cash in.
2 weeks in NYC with Sonic Youth, for example, is not going to help a Manic Depressive in any way. Shame.
