Review of The Devil and Daniel Johnston (2006) by Ollie W — 09 Feb 2011
Lots of amazing stock footage, some lovely flourishes of stylised direction and of course, central to everything, Daniel Johnston - the tragic, musical genius and saviour of underground American folk-Art, he is surely one of the most unconventional, unpredictable, deeply unsettling characters to have ever graced this planet and his level of critical and cult success remains proof that an often terrible and difficult existence, constrained by constant bouts of debilitating mental illness need not be a limitation.
