Review of The Descent (2005) by Brianna A — 01 Jul 2011
I can't recall why I didn't get around to seeing 'The Descent' on the big screen...but now, years later when I finally got to see it on DVD, I wish I had gone to the movies to experience it.
'The Descent' is a grim and gripping shocker about being trapped underground; trying to find a way out; also finding that there is something else down that is also utterly horrible and scary (the scene where our main protagonists make that awful discovery would have been terrific to experience in a packed cinema); and last but certainly not least, still trying to find a way out while fighting to survive (and how!) at the same time.
And that's not counting the rising tensions between some of our main protagonists that later burst to the surface and cause even more havoc...
If you hate confined spaces filled with ugly violent predators and lots of blood and guts, 'The Descent' is a film for you :).
