Review of The Descent (2005) by Daniel V — 13 Dec 2012
"The Descent" manages to produce an absolutely terrifying experience while still focusing heavily on its believable characters, plot twists, ruthless gory action, and the stunning ability to infuse themes that question morality.
Low-budget special effects are prevalent throughout, but the film does everything so well that even 60's special effects would've done fine. This is a prime example of a horror film done right - it avoids the cliches and focuses on all things important not only in horror flicks, but in films in general.
