Superb. INCREDIBLE. The Descent is one of my favorite horror movies. It's a terrifyingly claustrophobic experience. Excellently written. Superbly original. Amazingly acted. Stylish to a fault. I'm running out of positive adjectives!
Neil Marshall avoids the tiresome horror cliché of making the female leads defenseless bimbos running around partially clothed. They are BADASS in The Descent, fighting back against the cave creatures. This works as a horror movie and a feminist motion picture.
