Review of The Descendants (2011) by Reid S — 17 Jul 2012
BRAVO once again to George Clooney. This man knows how to perform on screen and he amazes me every time. This movie is a bit melancholy and Clooney's character goes through a LOT of SHIT. But not only is he good, Shailene Woodley was incredible. She is definitely one of the biggest breakthrough performances this year. The whole supporting cast was great. The story is mildly re-used but Alexander Payne glazes it over with a renewed and polished version of what nowadays are normally heaps of cliches. This is great movie that might win BEST PICTURE, and if it does I wont be disappointed. It definitely deserves it more than The Tree of Life.
The Descendants 4.5/5.
