Review of The Descendants (2011) by Mari R — 29 Aug 2013
I dind't have a good memory of the only other Payne's movie I watched, that is also probably its most successful film he ever made. I found it a very poor comedy, with a lot of points in common with some italian low level christmas comedies (that in Italy we call cinepanettoni).
Despite the premises, I think this one is, at the opposite, more than appreciable. The essential but very Hawaiian soundtrack, the settings and a nice use of the camera in some situation surely helps, but the film flows for nearly 2 hours and it's not a problem to follow it.
