Review of The Descendants (2011) by Najd G — 03 Feb 2014
The Descendants is a thought-provoking film, though calling it a candidate for best film of the year feels like a stretch. I'm in the minority, I know, but George Clooney should never be cast as your "everyman" character.
He did fantastic in his role, but I would've like to have seen a less-suave actor (like Tim Allen or Philip Seymour Hoffman) playing the part. Not to be a complete detractor: this film had me engaged from beginning to ashes.
