Review of The Departed (2006) by Julian B — 12 May 2013
A rather brilliant cast with a timeless director creates a rather gritty and triumphant gangster drama. This film is densely-layer with a lot of aspects that are done very well here; from the characterization, the morality setting, acting.
It is a bit familiar and of course very violent. I think the film tends to characterize by only the gangster values. Sometimes it may seem like the characters are all mindless killers. Infused with style and substance this Scorsese film is well-crafted movie.
