Review of The Defiant Ones (1958) by Alex G — 25 Jun 2007
Great movie! My favorute Sidney Poitier film. Superb subtext and performances. Works on two different levels; part entertainment and part philosophical. A grand perspective into race affinity. The chain, what a great symbol for the physical and intangible connection to another race.
Loved how effortless this movie ripened. A perfect film in my opinion. This film was revamped by Adam Sandler and Damon Wayans in the 90's film, Bulletproof.
