Review of The Deer Hunter (1978) by Carlos R — 16 Sep 2010
One of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. Everything in it is so well done, beautiful and spectacular. It's 3 hours long, and it's incredible how it's not boring, almost every war/drama film is boring in some parts, but this one is special, it's so well directed and acted, that you feel perfectly connected with the film.
It's a film with heart, with passion that almost made me cry. It's a film that starts like a drama/comedy/romance film, then it's a war film, this part is incomplete, because the film is almost entirely seen from Mike's point of view, specially the second half.
.. but the final hour gives answers, and it's shocking, dramatic and perfect. The final scene is one of the saddest and greatest scenes I've ever seen. A great masterpiece, that everyone should see.
