In my opinion the best of the vietnam movies. A very slow 1st hr that builds the characters and their friendships with each other sets the movie up for a very tough to watch 2nd half of the movie. This movie is pretty depressing but one can ignore the performances by walken and deniro...absolutely phenonmenal....the movie follows a group of friends in small town pennsylvania to their harrowing vietnam experience and how it drastically changes each of their minds....there is a russian roulette scene that is one of the most intense toughest scenes ever....
Phenomenal film.
Dont expect to feel good after its over.
