Review of The Deer Hunter (1978) by Jonathan L — 16 Jul 2015
I know that this is an important film and it won lots of Oscars, but it is overly long and the nearly hour long wedding and party sequence at the beginning was so tedious I nearly lost all interest. What comes after that isn't all that great either.
Plus the historical inaccuracies involving Russian Roulette are hard to forgive. The performances are good, the story not so much.
