Review of The Deer Hunter (1978) by Augustine H — 14 Apr 2016
A beautiful, heartbreaking yet important film regarding the Vietnam War, for what it shows how humanity is distorted and vanishes, and how the US was impacted. With such a big contrast, one just can't help ponder over the price of patriotism.
There are so many forgettable things, highlighted by John Williams' main theme "Cavatina", the dance scene at the wedding, the Russian Roulette scene and, most importantly, Christopher Walken's flawless performance.
