Review of The Deep End of the Ocean (1999) by Melissa M — 05 Jul 2008
As a parent I felt their pain very deeply. I felt her guilt and her depression. But I also felt the rest of the family's quiet pain as they all tried to miove on. When they find their son, that's when you realize the impact the parents' grief had on the brother and how all that time, he blamed himself.
His pain is so deep and goes unnoticed until it can't be ignored any longer. In the end, the saying, 'If you love something set it free and if it was meant to be yours, it will come back to you' rings so true.
