Review of The Deep End (2001) by Brian W — 26 Mar 2009
The creators of this movie might have wanted to make an effort to get the viewer to like the main character, or the son she's trying to protect. Not to mention she's one of those characters that does stupid things at every turn.
No matter what the situation, you know she's going to do exactly the wrong thing. The only character with any likeability is Visnjic's, and this movie would be at least a star or two better if it were told mostly from his point of view.
The moral of this movie should be, "A lot of problems can be avoided if a family just communicates with one another.".
