Review of The Deep End (2001) by Ld P — 25 Dec 2008
I liked this movie and will submit longer review later this week (dec 25 2008) There have been many murder video ransom movies over the years. Most are pretty typical. The Deep End is not a typical ransom movie.
It was very involving and interesting --right through to the end. Believable Plot Good Acting Great Setting Emotionally charged. They type it as a thriller but I type it as a melodrama with murder/ransom.
Its nice --refreshing to see the criminals (blackmailer) have a change of heart sometimes. Rarely do films give that type of protagonist that chance. only one scene where 12 -14 should cover their eyes.
My niece and nephew 13 and 16 will watch next week and I will put their opinions here also. Anyway this is an interesting and involving movie.Decided to lower the rating to 6 out of ten. ( I saw this now 6 weeks ago.
really its kind of an average movie) Tilda Swoon is very good in this role!
