Review of The Debt Collector (1999) by Emma H — 21 Sep 2008
Although not a gritty and raw as I remembered, this is still a compelling look at how two men on either side of the law are drawn inexorably to each other. Stott is masterful and shows us acting skills that light up the screen.
Connolly too is impressive and lends the role of the hard man on the brink of success in the real world a harder and more believable edge. The final knife scene is excruciating violent but necessary. However, it could have been a lot more realistic had the music department not been given free-for-all.
A great supporting cast also.
