Review of The Debt (2010) by Matt L — 28 Jan 2012
Rarely in this current age of Hollywood does a film rely so heavily on it's story and characters. The dialogue is sparse at times, and not the driving force by any means. It is wonderfully acted by all involved especially the double duo of Jessica Chastain and Helen Mirren.
It's a simple message. Live in deception and it will come back to haunt you, that guilt will weigh on your conscience no matter how many years you try and crush it down. For it's budget, it's very well made and directed by John Madden and a writing success for Goldman, Vaughn and Straughan (X-Men: First Class & Kick-Ass).
