Review of The Debt (2010) by Roxanne R — 04 Jan 2012
A gripping and intense edge of your seat thriller that is a must-see!! Helen Mirren shines on this spy thriller that begins in 1997, as shocking news reaches retired Mossad secret agents Rachel (Helen Mirren) and Stefan (Tom Wilkinson) about their former colleague David (Ciarán Hinds).
All three have been considered heroes by their country for 30 years because of the mission they undertook back in 1965, when they found Nazi war criminal Vogel (Jesper Christensen) in East Berlin. Vogel was infamously known as "The Surgeon of Birkenau" for his horrific pseudo-medical experiments on Jews during World War II â" and the agent's mission was to bring Vogel back to Israel to face justice.
"At great risk, and at considerable personal cost, the team's mission was accomplished - or was it? The suspense builds in and across two different time periods, with startling action and surprising revelations.
" Folks, this motion picture is TERRIFIC!! Will keep you engaged from beginning to end! Oh, the ending is fantastic and again kudos to Helen Mirren for a terrific performance, not to be missed!!
