Review of The Debt (2010) by Ryan O — 24 Feb 2012
I love a good spy movie and The Debt delivers on all fronts. Great script, fantastic acting and character driven. The Debt is one of those movies that begins in the present day and then told through a series of flashbacks featuring the current aged trio of spies and the mission they went on to track down a Nazi war criminal. With a great deal of ease, director John Madden has fashioned a suspenseful thriller that holds its pace at breakneck speeds its hard to take a breath.
As always Helen Mirren continues to shine in the roles she chooses - and proves how versatile of an actress she can be. The Debt is an excellent piece of film making that deserves to be seen. While I've only seen it once, I wonder if a second viewing might uncover some other surprises that I missed the first time.
