Review of The Debt (2010) by Rehan H — 17 Mar 2012
Very enjoyable espionage thriller set in 2 time periods: Cold War East Germany and 30 yrs later in Israel & Ukraine. Follows the same 3 members of a Mossad team from their Cold War mission to where they end up 30 yrs later.
Sam Worthington, Jessica Chastain and Martin Csokas play the younger versions of Ciarian Hands, Helen Mirren and Tom Wilkinson. All 6 actors are superb, and the dynamics between the 3 in each time period are fascinating for how much can be done without a great deal of dialogue.
In no way uplifting, but very real and well worth watching.
