The debt: two hours of my life. Payable with interest. If you're going to make a film with a good premise and an intriguing plot twist, don't waste the first two thirds of the film establishing the premise and spiraling off on a romantic subplot with zero intrigue.
Stick to the genre or you'll lose your audience in banality.
