Review of The Death of Stalin (2017) by Brent_Marchant — 17 Mar 2018
A devilishly funny dark comedy that skewers the lunacy of bureaucracy and the buffoonish behavior of the power hungry, set in the wake of the demise of Soviet dictator Josef Stalin in 1953. The film's stellar ensemble cast, combined with a wickedly funny script and endless touches of high camp, make for uproariously funny viewing.
Not all of the jokes work, and sometimes the film gets a little too political, but, these shortcomings aside, "The Death of Stalin" serves up loads of big laughs. Enjoy, comrade.
