Wonderful offbeat movie! Most people under 40 who haven't been taught History in American public schools will miss the dark humor in this surprise gem of a movie which makes fun (and properly so) of the Josef Stalin dictatorship that came to an end in 1953 with his unexpected death.
His Communist/Socialist aides had no clue what to do and the movie takes wild advantage of it! There's a reason American capitalism and democracy have flourished while Russian and Soviet governments have failed.
This slice of Russian/Soviet history shows what a bubbling mess their leaders have made since 1917 of a once proud people. If you know your Russian history, be sure to see this and ENJOY!
