Review of The Death of Mr. Lazarescu (2005) by Kate K — 27 May 2009
This film feels every second as long as its 2.5 hour running time - as with Lazarescu's own journey, the film lacks any sense of speed or urgency. This, of course, is the whole point of the central theme (see: Jarhead).
A thoughtful, if glacially paced, satire on the poor Romanian hospital system - think Sicko with an older fat guy, but probably just as left wing...
