Review of The Death Factory: Bloodletting (2008) by Chris P — 02 Jul 2015
I'm sorry, but I'm not going to apologize for liking this movie. I can't really pin down exact reasons. You know this is camp, low budget, and you can say anything you want about the acting.
There weren't any delusions of grandeur that the movie made you think it was trying to convince you otherwise. There really isn't a set up like this I've seen anywhere else. You have an array of despicable characters (except maybe the main protagonist) to choose from, so you really have to decide which of these villains you might want to see die least, or last, or the most painfully.
It was largely a tale of bad guys killing other bad guys, while the real "good guy" does resort to much the same tactics the bad guys used to achieve her vengeance. You will find absolutely no saints here.
It doesn't dwell heavily on morality or ethics, obviously, however. It's just sort of an inward chuckling at the wonderfully absurd, driven to extreme. There's some sort of teasing, thin thread of plausibility to it all.
