Review of The Dead Zone (1983) by Sarfaraz A — 24 Jan 2013
The Dead Zone directed by David Cronenberg, based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. Starring Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen. Johnny (Christopher Walken) is a schoolteacher. One night while driving through stormy weather, serious car accident occurs, after 5 years in coma, Johnny wakes up with psychic powers to foretell the events or alter them.
Truly speaking, I became far greatly influenced by Walken's performance in the film, it's energizing, phenomenal and single last word mesmerizing. While, the movie does not qualify for horror-genre, it more like sounds a thriller (and I do mean my words here). Fair use of dialogues and photography. Tremendously enchanting score, which fills in the corners and center of the movie's story.
