Review of The Dead Zone (1983) by Kenneth L — 03 Oct 2007
This just grows and grows on me the older I get, the more times I see it. It had some scenes that really creeped me out the first time I saw it (when I was maybe around 12). It's still creepy but it is also a beautiful and sad story of an ordinary man given a gift that takes a serious toll on him both physically and mentally.
A story of good and evil, with some wonderful characters and a beautiful New England scenery which lends great credibility to all the fantasy elements. One of the best movies from David Cronenberg, and one of the finest (and quite possibly most underrated) Stephen King-adaptions ever made.
