Review of The Dead Zone (1983) by Justin S — 29 Jan 2008
What charm! Walken is really lovely in this role. Not having read the book, I can see that there could be more in there to explore and expand, but it's not the job of a film maker to translate too literally.
I enjoyed this so much, i'll probably never read the book, an exact reversal of my usual pattern. Martin Sheen does a great turn too and Brooke Adams is in it just enough to be a real influence and motivation, but not so much as to murky up the plot and drive of the picture with moral questions and might have beens.
