Review of The Dead Zone (1983) by Shawn M — 07 Jun 2008
Really more of a sci-fi movie than a horror movie, "The Dead Zone" excels because of a great premise, Christopher Walken, and direction by David Cronenberg. The film doesn't fall into the trap of being simply about a man's new-found abilities after waking up from a coma; it spends a lot of time with character-building, which is a relief, as it makes for a greater payoff in the final act of the movie.
One of the better Stephen KIng adaptations.
