Review of The Dead Zone (1983) by Roy S — 17 Oct 2012
One of the best adaptations of a Stephen King novel, as well as one of Cronenberg's, who is very "accessible" here, as the critics like to say. Walken is of course great, and this really makes me pine for the days when he would star in and carry an entire film on his creepy, captivating shoulders.
Also, the whole movie is beautifully shot in a very snowy winter which I always enjoy anyway, but also adds considerably to the chilly mood. Martin Sheen and the late great Herbert Lom also do great things with their small roles.
