Review of The Dead Zone (1983) by Eytan D — 04 Jul 2014
"The Dead Zone" is one of the best Stephen King adaptations ever made. Director David Cronenberg ("The Fly", "The Brood" and "Videodrome") abandons bodily horror and proves he is just as good at building suspense and tension.
The movie has very good performances, especially that of Christopher Walken in the leading role. Also, Michael Kamen's score is undeniably haunting. The "scissors scene" still shocks without showing a hint of onscreen violence.
