Review of The Dead Girl (2006) by David V — 03 Nov 2007
A simple but impressive character-driven detail of the lives surrounding a homicide. I thought there were some misogynistic elements in the film (all but one of the female characters are mentally unstable whereas all but two of the male characters seem relatively normal), but the cast's performance way overshadows any of the film's flaws.
It's been a very long time since I've seen a movie that was content to simply let the actors lead the way without much in the way of plot, and I was so pleased with the results here.
