Really just a group of shorts with a commonality, the titular "dead girl". Yet the film comes across as more.
Each story is interesting in a different way, and the acting in each is very good.
There are male characters, but "The Dead Girl" is a feminine film. There is never any question that women are the focus. Don't be fooled though, the film is not abrasive. It is commendable that "The Dead Girl" empowers its women without attacking or castrating its male characters. Maybe thats why I left with a high opinion of the film. No character, male or female, is perfect, yet in every situation good is birthed from a bad situation. A relative good, nothing saccharine, crafted tightly.
