Review of The Dead (1987) by Paul P — 17 Dec 2011
The only thing that saves The Dead is the last 15 minutes. I loved how it offered the viewer to so much to think about. Not just about the Conroys but about the entire country of Ireland and how out of touch they were during the turn of the century.
But it takes a little over an hour to get to that point and in all honesty that section is really boring. I hate using the word boring but I had nothing invested into these characters so to see them at a dinner party where the most exciting thing was seeing the young sister play piano, it was like watching paint dry.
