Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008) by David K — 11 Jan 2015
Actually, I sort of liked the film. Klaatu, the alien, behaved exactly as an alien is to be expected. American government forces, as always, tried to solve the problem by blasting it with high explosives, The Hillary-Clintonesque Regina was very convincing.
Her deferences to The President sounded particularly funny when watched in 2018. Maybe, that after digging garden earth parched by the worst drought in the local recorded history whole day, one is reminded how stupid we are when treating the Earth as a dump.
Perhaps some friendly aliens are the only hope. After reading all the dismisive reviews of this film I must definitively lookup and see the classical 1951 version.
