Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008) by Tim K — 23 Apr 2012

I will start off by saying that the acting and script was terrible and it was just painful to watch. The only cast members I enjoyed were Jayden Smith and Robert Knepper. Even though I love The Matrix, Reeves was so terrible in this movie! The movie tries to make you care about his character, but I would not have minded if he just died, or if anything bad happened to him, I just would not care.

And the aliens in this movie were so corny and there was nothing really thrilling about this movie. So I heard that this is a remake which is no surprise to me because the original was highly praised and then they made this which gained nothing good for this franchise.

But I have not watched the original but I have heard nothing bad about it. So I did not really like this movie, it just seemed like the director was talked into making a disaster movie which clearly is not his style.
