Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008) by James D — 10 Feb 2013
After hearing about the original film, and how much of a classic Sci-Fi movie it is, I thought it would only be right to give this movie a chance, even though I had heard that it wasn't very good at all.
The biggest reason why I wanted to see it though is Keanu Reeves a he brings to the table in films, especially Sci-Fi (The Matrix Trilogy). Needless to say, he is the only highlight of the film, even with a very limited dialogue and nut much action.
The film just seemed "blah" to me, boring, uneventful, lame, and very poor special effects. The storyline is great, original, and I like alien films, but there just wasn't enough to keep this movie good.
I would say unless you are an absolute die hard Sci-Fi film lover, stay away from it, or you just might fall asleep from boredom. 2/5 JD.
