I've never seen the original 1951 version of this film and probably never will, as that one doesn't interest me at all. This 2008 remake was really good, and I was surprised at how good it was. I went to see it for Keanu Reeves & Jennifer Connolly, as i've seen alot of their films. I loved the story of Klaatu and how Helen helped him, as she believed that he could help our planet. Jaden Smith (son of Will & Jada) played the part of little Jacob really well and is the spitting image of his famous parents, and an equally great actor. This film has suspense and action throughout and is a film I believe everyone of all ages can enjoy.

The best lines (in no particular order):

Klaatu: "Do you speak for the entire human race?".

Regina Jackson: "I speak for the President of the United States. Now, please; tell me why have you come to our planet.".

Klaatu: "Your" planet.".

Regina Jackson: "Yes, this is our planet.".

Klaatu: "No, it is not.".

Klaatu: "This body will take some getting used to. It feels unreal to me. Alien. It will take time to adapt.".

Helen Benson: "What were you before you were human?".

Klaatu: "Different.".

Helen Benson: "Different how?".

Klaatu: "It would only frighten you.".

Helen Benson: "Have you done your homework?".

Jacob Benson: "School's canceled on account of the aliens.".

Helen Benson: "National security? Well that just means whatever you want it to mean.".
