The Day the Earth Stood Still is nothing more than special effects. It's plot is terrible and underdeveloped, which is rushed and completely devoid of any tension or interest. The actors do an okay job, but Jaden Smith's bad acting and annoying character helps make this movie even worse.

There's still a cool premise but it's also a typical example of how Hollywood usualy ruins it's stories with tired and rushed clichés.
