Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Roy C — 23 Dec 2008
Occasionally cheesy, but spooky nonetheless. I prefer the remake, but I like that Gort stays a robot throughout the whole of the 1951 film, as opposed to turning into nanites and never reverting to his original form.
Patricia Neal also delivers a strong Helen Benson, much more subtle than Jennifer Connelly.
