Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Adam G — 19 Dec 2008
From a lot of aspects, this was very much ahead of it's time. Take the interior design of the spaceship for example; very impressive, especially taking into account the film was made in 1951!
There is a very strong anti-war/anti-nuclear message here, very well in keeping with that era, and even though it might be a bit slow-paced for today's tastes, I still think it has a rightful place amongst sci-fi classics.
